What a weekend!

Our party on October 23rd went really great. I took no photos from the party, and my friend Marilyn who promised to send hers to me has not yet been able to figure out her new phone. Here's my friend Alba helping me cut up onions for the potato salad.

The morning after the party I caught this moth drowning in a half-empty wine glass. I rescued it but I don't know if it fully recovered.

The party was a really magical evening. Dale smoked pork and chicken in the new smoker. i made potato salad, cole slaw, and rolls. Many people brought dishes.

Our neighbor Cam brought over his sound system and set it up, which really made things easier. We had about ten musical performers, Laure singing and playing piano, me and Laure doing a duet, Laure and her son Xander doing a duet, Tish Dvorkin and and Gideon doing Jewish and Russian selections, Alba sang "Besame Mucho" accompanied by her husband. Bill Flood playing a Dylan song about a Gypsy woman while Laure's friend Vic and I danced to it, There were also two who were complete surprises: Laure's niece did an original song, very powerful, and Vicki from my beading meetup brought her husband who turned out to have a powerful bass voice, beautiful to listen to.

About 50 people attended, I estimate. The new cloth checked tablecloths which I had ordered from Vermont Country Catalog looked really nice, with globular red glass candle jars on each. Dale Sr. bought some red party lights and put them up in careful rings around roof over the table in front of the cooker.

Here is the Democratic party office in Gilbert where I have been spending a lot of time.

My signs were a compilation of all three of the  designs on the official Hillary signs.

Most of these were given away at the party they had for the first debate. I couldn't stand to watch, just the idea of that monster makes the hair stand up on my arms.
