Busy Week

It's 4 AM and I set my alarm an hour earlier than usual, because I was too tired after all of the yard work I did yesterday to go to Starbuck's.
I feel bleary-eyed and sore.

Yesterday I woke at 3:00, unable to go back to sleep. I was excited because it was the the first day in so long I didn't have to go anywhere!
(And the last day this coming week that I wouldn't have to go anywhere!)

The night before, we had gone to hear Hans Olson at the Handlebar Pub and Grill, and for the first time ever I was too sleepy to stay for the second set.

.
Thursday was the second "student day" at the Renaissance Festival, and when I went back to the booth where the music jam was
held on Monday, he had my camera
! I had been too tired to go check at the Tuesday student days. I am so glad to have my camera back!

The pizza oven is painted tan and the custom made doors have almost finished being installed. All that remains for the guys to do is to mount the curved iron stick (made by the blacksmith at the Renaissance Festival) that the pulley hangs from, to figure out what to do for the counter-weight for that curved iron stick (the counter-weight will hold up the lid of the smoker when it's open), and to mount the decorative ornament which Cam made to mount above the fire pit.

Cam, the guy who lives down the street in the two-story mobile home, made the decorative ornament (and the one for the doors) welding parts of transmission parts together.
When he went to the transmission place to buy some more parts, he showed them one of the ornaments and they liked it so much they ordered one for the wall in their office!

Lyssa e-mailed me that their plans have changed somewhat. They are going to fly here first (on the 9th) and  drive to LA and back for the weekend wedding. In my reply, I asked her to verify that the 15th would be okay for the party.I also asked if Mike could make me up a list of ingredients for pizza for a large crowd, and give me any ideas he had for set-up.

Both "Student Days", at the Renaissance Festival, Tuesday and Thursday, dealing with long lines of kids, I did not encounter a single rude kid in all that time. Very nice.

I have started logging my food intake again on the app "Losin' It" which my friend Laure showed me how to use
. By Wednesday evening I was already a little over 3,000 calories over my daily goal, this week (outch).

The app also has a way to log in exercise, you click on the kind of exercise and the amount you did, and it subtracts the amount of calories for that amount of exercise.  I did so much yard work yesterday that, even though I ate more than the goal amount yesterday also, I was 612 calories under my goal for yesterday.

It's just too sad for me to carry around extra weight
. Also, for someone like me who likes clothes, it's frustrating to go, "Oh, I'll wear that dress tonight!", but then realize that, at my present weight, that dress is not flattering!

Yesterday Dale Sr. and John Ducette completely revamped the table in front of the pizza oven/smoker.
They re-did the top of it and painted it tan to match the oven, and covered the top with tiles with a brown/orange eight-pointed star pattern. It looks so good!

While they were busy with that, I pruned, raked, and weeded for several hours in the morning.
I also turned all three compost piles in the late afternoon. I found over a hundred of those big fat grubs which the chickens love so much while turning the piles. The piles look so much better once they've been turned.

I had planned to go to Starbuck's and Safeway in the evening after a shower, but I was so tired and sore that I just rinsed off and went right to sleep.

Love,
Lennie
