Hi Mom and family,

The party at John's was quite something.
Much enthusiastic singing and socializing, and we stayed up late having very interesting conversations with John and Kathy's friend Larry and some of the younger people. I glanced at my watch and couldn't believe it was 2 AM! Lots of fun!

Photos: singing, some of "the younger generation" and some of the raucous socializing around the kitchen island:

Their friends are such warm and nice people.
I was so glad to see Marsha, who has been a regular at these parties ever since she and Kathy and John first met, when she started singing with John way back when I first visited who has been their close friend since she was singing with John way back when I visited with my three little ones. She was the mainstay of the soprano section, the very highest notes just disappeared when I was trying to do it on my own.

What was cool is that because the children of these old friends have been coming to their carol-singing party for thirty years or so, they are old hands at the part singing. There was even enthusiastic participation on all parts of the Hallelujah chorus. As several of these 30-somethings have been married for some years, their spouses also have been coming for a while and jumped in on some of the carols. It was so much fun.

Below, a couple of photos taken right before the party:

Love,
Lennie
